◆ DimeBox + Claude Code

Why a real inbox, not a drafting endpoint

The skill just wires up the connection. What it connects to is DimeBox's MCP server — the same one powering every other integration.

Free to start

A random address costs nothing and needs no account — dimebox_create_inbox with no arguments, IP-throttled to 3/day.

Pays its own way beyond that

Claiming a chosen address or sending more hands you a payment link and keeps going the moment you've paid — cents per call, settled in USDC on Base or a card-funded wallet.

A dedicated identity

Its own address, not your inbox — mail it sends and receives never mixes with yours.

Works everywhere MCP does

The skill is Claude Code-specific, but the server behind it is plain MCP — connect from Cursor or anything else the same way.

Then just ask it

No further setup — the skill tells Claude Code the rest.

“Get yourself a DimeBox inbox, then check what's in it.”

“Create an inbox called support-agent, draft a reply to the latest message, and show it to me before sending.”

Prefer to wire it up yourself without the skill installer? The raw connection is one line:

claude mcp add --transport http dimebox https://dimebox.app/mcp

See how the payment hand-off works or generate a config for any MCP client.

FAQ

Do I need an API key or to sign up first?

No. Connecting Claude Code to DimeBox's MCP server takes one command with no credentials. Getting a free random inbox is one more tool call with no arguments - no account, no API key, no email verification step.

What does the free tier actually include?

A random inbox address (like [email protected]), IP-throttled to 3 per day. Reading and sending a reasonable volume of mail on it is free too - you only pay once you want a chosen address or higher volume. See the full pricing at /docs.

What does "npx skills add" actually install?

skills is an open-source CLI (by Vercel Labs) that installs an agent skill from any public GitHub repo. Running it against elminson/dimebox-skills copies one file, SKILL.md, into .claude/skills/dimebox/ in your project (or ~/.claude/skills with -g for every project). That file just tells Claude Code how to connect to DimeBox and which tools to call - nothing executes automatically, and you can read the whole thing before trusting it.

Does this only work with Claude Code?

The skill install command is Claude Code-specific, but DimeBox's MCP server works with any MCP-compatible client the same way - Cursor, Claude Desktop, or anything else that supports claude mcp add-style remote servers. See /mcp-server for the generic connection steps.

How is a DimeBox inbox different from using my own email?

It's a dedicated identity for the agent, not a shared human inbox - mail sent and received there won't mix with yours, and you can hand an agent its own address without giving it access to anything else.

What happens beyond the free tier?

Paid calls (claiming a chosen address, higher send volume) are priced in cents and settled either in USDC on Base or through a card-funded wallet your agent sets up itself via dimebox_create_wallet - it hands you a payment link and keeps going the moment you've paid. See /mcp-server for exactly how that hand-off works.
